About

Under the direction of the Recreation Director, the department supervises City parks, recreation areas, tennis center, and tennis programs. It coordinates and supervises all youth sports leagues and other special activities, including a summer recreation program.

After School Fall Camp

Duration: Monday, August 24th through Friday, October 2nd.

Available to: LHP Residents entering 1st through 8th grade

Cost: $50 for 1st through 5th grade, $25 for 6th through 8th grade

The City of Lighthouse Point is opening limited park facilities to provide our residents opportunities to exercise and obtain other health benefits during this continuing pandemic.

Safe & Responsible Use of Dan Witt Park

  1. Practice physical distancing (6 foot minimum).
  2. Facial covering must be worn at all times when social distancing cannot be maintained, other than while exercising or engaging in vigorous activity. Facial covering must be worn if within 6 feet of someone not in your household.
  3. Playgrounds, basketball courts, volleyball court, and exercise area shall remain closed to the public.
  4. Only City sanctioned approved sports training with cleats is allowed.
  5. No groups of more than 10 shall congregate in any area of the park. A minimum of 50 feet must be maintained between all groups.
  6. Use of tennis courts shall be limited to a maximum of 4 persons on the court at any one time.
  7. All CDC Guidelines regarding social distancing must be observed at all times by all persons using any area of the park.
  8. Park open daylight hours only.
  9. Report misuse of the park to Lighthouse Point Police Department: 954-942-8080

  1. Practice physical distancing (6 foot minimum).
  2. Face cover must be worn if within 6 feet of someone not in your household.
  3. No recreational programming, pick-up games, organized sports or activities are allowed.
  4. No groups of 10 or more are allowed in the parks; smaller groups must maintain social distancing following CDC/Health Department guidelines. A minimum of 50 feet must be maintained between all groups.
  5. Keep park use to 1 to 2 hours maximum.
  6. Park open 8 am to sunset.

Closures & Cancellations 

  • All City Recreation Programs have been canceled as well as pavilion rentals until further notice.

Tennis Center

The Lighthouse Point Tennis Center is open by reservation (please call 954-946-7306) for residents and members only. The Pro Shop and Pavilion are closed until further notice.

Visitors should follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines: 

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Do not socialize in groups of more than 10.
  • Put a distance of six feet between yourself and other people
  • Wash your hands

City employees continue to follow CDC personal hygiene recommendations and are increasing the sanitization of our facilities.
